CavCom is an accessory to the handheld two-way radio. CavCom attaches to the remote accessory port on your two-way radio to enable radio transmit and receive functions into the earpieces.
CavCom electronics incorporate safety and convenience by utilizing “Talk Through Your Ears” Technology.
- When the PTT button is depressed on the Control Unit, the transceiver inside the earpiece acts as a microphone.
- The CavCom microphone picks up speech inside the ear canal behind the passive protection of the hearing protection ear set.
- The individuals’ voice is transmitted through the radio and also is amplified to the opposite ear (‘side tone’) which allows for a natural and comfortable speaking sensation without shouting.
- Radio Transmissions are received in both ears (binaural hearing) which improves the ability to hear and understand speech messages at significantly lower (safe) listening levels compared to one ear listening devices.
- Users can speak in a normal tone without shouting due to the side tone feature which prevents voice fatigue at the end of the day.
