- Ear impressions require inserting a foam dam into the ear canal to retain the impression material against the ear canal walls for an accurate mold.
- Impressions are made from biocompatible silicone material that will not shrink or change shape over time. Other impression materials are not acceptable.
- Local audiologists or hearing aid instrument specialists are an ideal source to take ear impressions. If local vendors are not available CavCom representatives can travel to the customer site periodically to take impressions.
- An accurate impression is essential to the fit and acoustic seal of the final product.
