Acoustic filters can be implanted into the custom earpieces to reduce the passive protection for low to moderate noise levels. The filtered device may also enhance the ability to hear speech or paging signals.
- ER-15 is a flat response filter implanted in a custom hearing protector that provides approximately 15 dB of noise reduction for moderate to high noise exposure levels 85 – 90 dBA.
- ER – 20 is a non-custom-fitted product with a tuned resonator acoustic resistor that provides approximately 20 dB of noise reduction for high noise exposure levels – 90 – 95 dBA.
